Reid M. DeManche

Reid received his bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering, along with minors in Economics and Political Science, from Colorado State University. During his undergraduate studies, Reid worked as an intern for automotive supplier ZF Lemforder in Northville, MI, and was the captain of Colorado State’s Formula SAE race team.

After earning a merit scholarship and a Dean Charles H. King honors scholarship, Reid graduated summa cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law with a concentration in Intellectual Property and Communications Law. While attending law school, Reid worked for Rocketsports Racing, a Champ Car World Series automotive racing team, designing parts for 200+ mph open-wheel race cars. Reid also worked as a clerk for the Michigan State University Office of the General Counsel.

Reid focuses his practice in the preparation and prosecution of domestic, international and foreign patent applications in the Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical arts, litigation support, and client counseling.

Reid has extensive experience in the preparation and prosecution of patents for green technologies, such as those used in hybrid vehicles, and has a strong interest in the fast-growing alternative energy sector. Reid is currently the Law School Liaison for the Michigan Intellectual Property Lawyers Association (MIPLA).
