Jean worked as a mechanical engineer in the emissions control laboratory of the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and in electroplating and metal stamping areas of General Motors Corporation. Jean gained patent law experience in Ford Motor Company's Intellectual Property Department. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Intellectual Property Section, the Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association and American Intellectual Property Law Association.
