Brian C. Andress

Brian is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the state of Michigan. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Brian received a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University in 1996 and a J.D. with honors from Michigan State University College of Law in 2007.

From 1996 to 2003, Brian worked for Wade-Trim, Inc. as a project engineer and as a project manager. Brian was involved in all phases of engineering projects including engineering design, cost estimating, scheduling, project management and quality assurance/control. Brian’s design experience as a civil engineer includes road and infrastructure reconstruction, pavement evaluation, airport runway/taxiway and lighting design, storm water and drainage design, hydraulic analysis, municipal sanitary sewer design, water main design, and site development. Brian worked for a law firm from 2003 until 2009 as an intellectual property intern, patent agent and patent attorney.

Brian concentrates his practice in patent and trademark law with an emphasis on preparing and prosecuting patents. Brian has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in numerous mechanical technologies including: vehicle steering systems, steering columns, vehicle suspension systems, vehicle climate control devices, axle components, transmissions, electric wheel ends, methods of applying automotive coatings, fastener assemblies, archery products, assault rifles, and gaming systems.
